

Thomas Edward Moore, age 79, of Columbus, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018 after a very long battle with cancer and heart disease. Tom was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church and former V.P. on the Notre Dame School, School Board. From 1966-1977. He served as a volunteer Fire Fighter/Para-Medic for Franklin Township Fire Department. He was "Professional of the Year" for the Ohio Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineer from 1990-2000 and also one of the founding members of The Capital Area Safety Council. Tom served four years in the U.S. Navy. He loved fishing, woodworking, and working crossword puzzles. He was preceded in death by daughter, Michelle Moore Stover; parents, Thomas and Clara Moore; brothers, William, Gene, Jerry, and Bob; parents-in-law, Harry and Vereda Welch; and brothers-in-law, Walter, Jack and Richard Welch. Tom is survived by wife of 52 years, Helen; daughters, Christine (Terry) Taylor and Deborah (Ronan) Factora; son-in-law, G. William Stover; grandchildren, Patrick, Justin, Matthew, Shawn, Joshua, Emily, Sophia, Kaitlyn, and Simon; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Family will receive friends 3-6 PM on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 437 S. Roys Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43204, where a Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 AM on Monday, September 17, 2018. Interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Lockbourne, Ohio.
