Stoltz, Virginia C., Long time resident of Upper Arlington, Ohio died at home on August 6, 2019 at the age of 99. Gini was born May 13, 1920 and was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Philip C. Stoltz, who Gini always referred to as the "Love of My Life".
Gini is survived by two daughters; Kathryn Nelson Bruce (David) and Roberta Ferguson Haebler (Philip). She also has two grandsons Carleton Nelson (Amy) and Whitney Nelson, one granddaughter Rebecca Ferguson and three step-grandchildren David Haebler (Nikki), Annie Stewart (Cam) and Michael Haebler. Gini is also survived by seven great grandchildren, a sister-in-law Roberta Stoltz Lawrence and many nieces and nephews; three who were particularly close; Jinia Lee Tracy, Susie Strickland Zoske, and Jack Strickland.
One of Gini's greatest loves was her participation at the Columbus Museum of Art where she volunteered for nearly 65 years. In 2017 she was honored by the CMOA for her service. Starting as an early member of the Beaux Arts she moved on to the Museum Board of Managers, was the founding member of the Museum Gift Shop which now bears her name, charter member of the Women's Board and a founding member and trustee of the Charles Kleibacker Endowment Fund for Excellence, which she participated in right up until the time of her death. She worked with Charles to develop the Historic Costume and Textile Collection at the Ohio State University.
Gini started the "Church on the Lane Antiques, Inc", in the 1950s and moved it to the Grandview Movie Theater. She continued doing appraisals into her mid 90s. Gini was one of the earliest members of the American Appraisers Association well known for her appraisals of art, antiques, and fashion. When the Armstrong Air and Space Museum was built, Neil Armstrong called Gini directly about appraising all the gifts donated to the museum including the moon rocks.
She was an active member of First Community Church, a former trustee of the Development Fund, and a charter member of Group "Y" of the Church Guild. Additionally, Gini volunteered with the Childhood League and Board IV. Gini had a passion for travelling, loved to entertain, and enjoyed tennis and bridge. She belonged to the Scioto Country Club and the Columbus Club.
Gini had a zest for life that extended through her 99 year old life. She understood value, both as an appraiser and as a woman who loved helping people and being a great friend. Her travels and lifelong curiosity brought her friendships around the world. She lived life fully (with a flair for beauty) and will be missed greatly by many.
