Walter Dale "Teddy" Rittenhouse

Walter D. “Teddy” Rittenhouse, 76, of Circleville, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2010 at Berger Hospital. He was born March 2, 1934 in Ross County, the son of the late Fred and Mary Etta (Reed) Rittenhouse. He was preceded in death by his wife, Goldie (Ramsey) Rittenhouse in 2005; his step-children, Robert and Janet Bensonhaver, Patricia Haefele, Frank Grooms, Georgia Graves, Rosalie Rush and Sandy Bensonhaver; brothers, Fred, Jr., John, Thomas and Don Rittenhouse and Charles Kelley and George Butler; also sisters, Martha Justice and Mary Jane Reynolds. He is survived by his step-children, Kenneth (Georgianna) Bensonhaver, James (Judy) Bensonhaver, Ron (Becky) Bensonhaver and Ruth (Steven) Sines, all of Circleville and Thelma (Roger) Kellough of New Holland; 33 grandchildren; numerous great –and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Ralph of Frankfort; and sisters, Ollie Roe of Circleville and Louella (Fannie) Davis of Clarksburg. Funeral service will be held at 11:30a.m. Friday, December 10, 2010 at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00a.m. Friday until the time of service at the funeral home.
