Mr. Ryan was born in Newark on Sept 30, 1922 to the late Walter and Ivanella Ryan. He passed Friday, January 21, 2011 at Flint Ridge Nursing Center. He was 88.
Walter served his country in the US Army in WWII. After his service he worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad as an engineer.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth (Azbell) Ryan; sons Dan (Dianne) Ryan of Louisville, KY, Michael (Sarita) Ryan of Newark, and daughter Peggy Ann Whitaker of Newark, six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, his sister Elizabeth of Columbus.
