Wayne R. Carter

Wayne R. Carter, 70, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio passed away peacefully at home on October 29, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Wayne was born August 13, 1951 in Columbus to the late John and Ida Carter; also preceded in death by his brother Wesley. Following Wayne's graduation from Brookhaven High School he served in the U.S. Army. He attended The Ohio State University and Franklin University, where he received his master's degree in accounting. Wayne had a fulfilling career as an accountant, first with PNC (formerly BancOhio) and then with the State of Ohio-Dept. of Agriculture where he served up until his retirement. Wayne enjoyed gardening, planting many trees and bushes, and was a life-long dog lover. He leaves behind his beloved best friend, Buddy. Wayne is survived by his devoted wife, Sharon (Gary) Carter; children: John (Kristen) Carter, Gary (Diane) Brown, Krista (Bryan) Johnson, and Jay (Teresa) Brown; grandchildren: Cameron, Kim, Ariana, Kenton, Dalton, Tom (Ali), Josh (Tia), Jesse (Christian), Taylor (Gage) and Austin; 13 great-grandchildren; sister Sue(Vince) Evans; sisters-in-law Gale (Phil) Hooper, Mary Linscott, Judy (Greg) Lafferty and Tammy Blackburn; brothers-in-law Ron Gary and Tom (Shari) Gary; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Services will be held at 10am Saturday, November 6, 2021 in the Mausoleum Chapel located on the grounds of Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5600 E. Broad St., Columbus, OH 43213. Services entrusted to Schoedinger Northeast.
