Wayne L. Walters

Wayne L. Walters age 76, a resident of Columbus, died Friday, October 30, 2009. He was born July 25, 1933 in North Braddock, PA. He served with the U.S. Air Force and was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Magna Cum Laude. He retired from Bell Telephone Laboratories with thirty five years of service. He had a great sense of humor, a beautiful smile and always saw the good in everyone. He will be missed by many friends, especially those that played golf with him. Wayne was a wonderful and devoted husband father, grandfather, brother and friend. He is preceded in death by his parents Chester and Clara Walters, son Wayne D. Walters. He is survived by his loving wife Betty of fifty three years, son Michael (Susie) Walters, daughter Lynn Guy, seven grandchildren, Sarah Collins, Kelly Collins, Lindsay Collins, Katie Guy, Maggie Guy, Michael Walters, Sarah Walters, loving sister Jean Fromelius, many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St., (1/2 mile south of I-270). Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 AM with Heinz Horstmeier officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Rest Memorial Park. Online condolences may be made to www.schoedinger.com
