

W. C. “Bill” Egbert, 90, died November 25, 2011 at Sunrise of Worthington. He was born June 27, 1921 in Evansville, IN. He later moved with his family to Columbus, Ohio where he attended Sacred Heart Grade School and Holy Rosary High School. Bill enjoyed talking about his time in the service, first in WWII with the Army and then in the Korean Conflict as a United States Marine. He was a survivor of the Battle of Choisin Reservoir. He retired from Columbia Gas after 36 years of service. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Trudy after almost 65 years of marriage; children, Bill (Paula) Egbert of Westerville, Bob Egbert of Lancaster and Marcia (Jeff Hagan) Egbert of Cleveland; grandchildren, Colin, David, Daniel, Teresa, Lori and Will; great-grandchildren, Sean and Eleanor and daughter-in-law, Mary Oehler. Family will receive friends Tuesday, November 29, 2011 from 4-7:30 pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am, Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 20 E. Dominion Blvd, Columbus. Fr. Kevin Kavanagh Celebrant. Interment to follow at Kingwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Central Ohio Chapter, 740 Lakeview Plaza, Suite 225, Worthington, Ohio 43085.
