Wellman George Rivers

Wellman G. Rivers, age 95, went home to be with the Lord on February 17, 2016. He is survived by his sons; David (Donna) Rivers of Grove City, Larry M. (Janet) Rivers of Plain City, daughters; Glenna (Bob) Fulton of Grove City, Judy (Cecil) Kepp of Grove City, Pat (Ed) Newton of Powell, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister; Audrey, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Wellman was preceded in death by his parents, Wife; Eileen, brothers and sisters. During his life in Columbus Wellman was a member of Memorial, Imanuel and Maranatha Baptist Churches. He took pleasure in serving as an usher when he could no longer do physical work. Wellman spent the last year at Monterey Nursing Home in Grove City, OH. While there, he shared to all the staff about salvation in Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior. He was so touched by the loving care of the staff that he wanted and expected a hug every time they cared for his needs, and he always said “Thank You.” The staff called him a sweetheart, handsome, and a good man! Many thanks to everyone at Monterey. Wellman always provided loving care for his family. He was a strong, hardworking, wise man. He will be sorely missed. Funeral service will be held on Monday February 22, 2016 at the SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL 3920 Broadway at 11 am with visitation starting at 10 am. Pastor Timothy Kenoyer officiating.
