Dr. William (Bill) Harold Allen III

Bill was a proud, lifelong Golden Bear, claiming the unique distinction of being the first student ever to graduate from Hastings Junior High School and a graduate of the Upper Arlington High School Class of 1965. Bill earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from The Ohio State University where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi and honorary inductee into Bucket and Dipper. After completing his education, he went on to serve his country in the Vietnam War during 1972-1973 as a Captain in the United States Army. He liked to remind everyone that he “defended America’s teeth” during this time. Bill practiced dentistry in Upper Arlington for over 40 years and was deeply respected and loved by his patients. Bill was an avid marathon runner, golfer, traveler, and devoted Buckeye who rarely missed the opportunity to watch a football game with family or friends.

Bill will be greatly missed by his sons, Chad, Ryan, and William (Abigail); his granddaughters, Kiryan, Margaret, and Jane; and his sisters, Lynn (the late Rick) Colby and Clare (Jim) Scowden.

Memorial Service will be held at 12:00pm on Sunday, December 14, 2025 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST. Visitation and Reception will follow after the service and be held from 1:00 – 3:00pm.
