

William D. “Bill” Chambers, age 69 of Columbus, passed away March 16, 2010. Bill was born in Logan, West Virginia, son of the late Ezra and Freda Chambers. Also preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa, and brothers, Donald, Jerry, and Edwin. At a young age, Bill’s father passed away, and his family moved to Athens, Ohio, where he spent the remainder of his childhood years. As a young adult, Bill proudly enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed the traveling involved with the Navy and was very proud of the service he gave to his country. Throughout his life, Bill was always a very hard and dedicated worker. His family can recall him holding sometimes 2 jobs, just to make sure they had everything they needed and wanted. Bill loved animals, going on car rides with his family, enjoyed time spent relaxing and talking with folks in his garage, but most importantly, Bill loved spending time with his grandchildren. He loved to tease them and would always give them whatever they wanted. He will be missed by his loving wife of 43 years, Sandra; children, Saundra and Keith Lovely, Cheryl (Kenneth) Mumper, Elizabeth (Danny) Coleman, and William Chambers, Jr.; 10 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; brother, Richard (Barbara) Chambers; sister, Linda (Terry) Talling; sisters-in-law, Dolores Koontz, Oretha and Rose Chambers; special cousin, Jenny Lou; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 7 P.M. Friday, March 19, 2010 at SCHOEDINGER EA ST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-7 P.M. Friday.
