William Lloyd Given

William Given, 83 of Columbus, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013. He was born July 7, 1929 in Braddock, PA to the late Donald and Myrtle (Kennedy) Given. He was a graduate of Columbus North High School and attended OSU. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and retired from Columbia Gas. He was a member of Franklin United Brethren Church and the Masonic Temple. He was a fisherman, dog lover and sports enthusiast. Bill was always generous with his love and support for family and friends. In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by siblings Donald, Robert and Roland, step daughter Joanne Williams, grandson Mark Williams and son-in-law Bob Gump. He is survived by his loving wife Lois (Farley) Given, children Linda (Dan) Layshock, Karen (Greg) Rugg-Klapheke, son Bill (Marian) Given Jr., step daughters Judy (Jan) Pierce and Janet Gump, grandchildren Bob (Lori) Williams, Joyce (Dean) Truman, George Williams, Thomas Gump, Doug Dawson, Rob (Michelle) Gump, Joanne (Ralph) Siegfried, Aimee (Thomas) Smiley, David (Cheryl) Layshock, Nathan Rugg, Derek Rugg, Chelsea (Dave) Pfefferle, Jordan Rugg, April (John) Stone and Mark Given, sisters Marion (Frank) Little and Marilyn (Conrad) Stone, 11 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Friday from 5-8 PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 AM at Franklin United Brethren Church, 7171 Central College Rd., New Albany, OH.
