William Frederick McClary

1941 – 2022

William “Fred”, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 15, 2022 in Columbus, Ohio at age 80.

Preceded in death by father, Donn Richard McClary, Sr.; mother, Flossie Jane McClary; daughter Bonnie Jean McClary, daughter Brenda Sue McClary; son William “Freddy” McClary, Jr.; brother Donn “Rich” McClary, brother Vernon McClary; and sister Debbie (McClary) Perkins.

Survived by loving wife, Judy Phillips McClary; two daughters, Tina Parsons and Mary “Kathy” (Kenny) Larkins; and two sons, Rick Phillips and Jim (Lynn) Phillips; sister, Judy (George) Cloud; brothers, Ken (Peggy) McClary, Terry (Amy) McClary, Jerry (Paula) McClary and David (Shirley Graham) McClary; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

His greatest joy was being with his grandchildren and later his great grandchildren, and seeing them in their sports and many activities. He spent many summers camping along with his family and friends.

Open visitation will be held on Saturday, January 22, at 9:30am with the service immediately following at 10:30am. Burial will be at Union Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Service North, 5554 Karl Road in Columbus.

Guests are respectfully asked to wear masks and attendance will be monitored to ensure safety for everyone attending.
