

He was born on May 25, 1954, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late William Myers and Christine Starr.
A 1973 graduate of Hilliard High School, Bill met the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Lynda, during his time there. They shared 49 wonderful years of marriage.
Bill built a long and dedicated career in automotive maintenance, with his most recent position at the OSU Golf Course. There, he found great joy in maintaining the equipment and grounds, forming close bonds with his coworkers. He truly loved the work and the people around him.
A passionate sports fan, Bill especially enjoyed cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Guardians. He was also an avid golfer and a lifelong music lover. Above all, he was a devoted family man, known for his engaging personality and ability to strike up a conversation with just about anyone.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David Smith of Knoxville, Tennessee.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lynda Myers; daughter, Melissa Myers (Billy Brouse); and cherished grandson, August Brouse, all of Asheville, North Carolina. He is also survived by his in-laws: Barbara Wood, Amy (Ed) Bryant, Larry (Penny) Wood, Mark Wood, and Janice Smith; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9th, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Schoedinger Northwest, 1740 Zollinger Rd., Columbus, OH 43221.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to The James Cancer Hospital, The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, and Hospice of Central Ohio for their compassionate care during Bill’s final days.
