

William Peters Savage, Jr., 95, passed away Friday, December 9, 2016 at The Forum at Knightsbridge in Columbus, OH. Bill is survived by his wife of 11 years, Mary (Kreis) Savage; daughter in-law, Armita (Griffith) Savage; grandchildren Mary Lynn (Rex) Wilson; Randall (Beth) Greider; Richard Greider; Tammy Savage; Kristofer Altmann and Heather Jackson; four great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. A sixth-generation William Savage, he was preceded in death by his parents, William Peters Savage, Sr. and Maud Arvilla (Moore) Savage; first wife, Maxine (Benson) Savage; daughters, Janet Greider and Carolyn Altmann; son, William Paul Savage and granddaughter, Cassandra Dee Savage. A veteran of the US Navy, Bill worked for Ohio Bell until his retirement in 1976. His hobby-filled retirement was filled with building model trains, photography, amateur radio, genealogy and serving as an Officer for the Civil Air Patrol. Bill was a long-time member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Pioneers Club and the Triangle Club. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, OH 43221. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 10:00 am prior to the service at Schoedinger.
