William Roy Ward Jr.

Bill served in the Navy Reserves, studied engineering at Ohio State University and had a 35 year career as a mechanical engineer. He loved fixing things and in retirement had a second “career” as a handyman. Bill was an avid golfer and a huge fan of Ohio State football. He was creative, funny, generous, meticulous, curious, and a lifelong learner.

He loved traveling, music, designing and building things, and most of all loved being with his family, who will miss him more than words can express. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brothers Richard (Dick), Mike and John. Bill is survived by Jane(Downs), his wife of 69 years, three children, Jeff (Rebecca) Ward, Jim (Pam) Ward, Deanna (Kevin) Sweeney, three grandchildren, (Christopher, Olivia, Cameron), one great-grandchild (Colton), his sister Kay (Emery) Pestel, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 2-5 PM on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00AM on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at St. Agatha Catholic Church, 1860 Northam Rd, Upper Arlington,

OH 43221.
