

A visitation will be held for Willis Damron from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at the Boring-Sheridan-Schoedinger Funeral Home, 108 N. 7th St., Hebron, Ohio. He passed away on Monday, October 24, 2011, at Newark Health Care Center. Willis was born in Wayne County, West Virginia, on February 18, 1944, and was a resident of the Buckeye Lake and Newark areas. He was a welder, carpenter, and worked on cars. He liked camping, fishing, gardening, horse races, and Nascar. He loved and spoiled his great nephews, one who he always called “Professor,” and he loved chocolate. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Betty Burkett; parents, Chester and Mary (Sammons) Damron; and sisters, Pearlie Spaulding, Opal Earls, Mildred Farley, and Delores Damron. Willis is survived by son, Willis Ray; sisters, Lara (Sherman) Spaulding, Oretha (Robert) Radcliff, and Ivory Talley-Davis; special niece he always relied on, Lorrene Stone; nieces and nephews, Connie, Jeanette, Cathy, Curtis Jr., Susan, Vicki, Linda Jo, Michael, Annabelle, Tonya, Christy, David, Tina, Cheryl, Angie, Chuck, Theresa, James Ronald, Candy and Keith; special friends, Barry Owens, Rusty Camron, Clifford Sharon, Ronnie Flowers, Brian Owens, Charles Woods, Ken Owens, Charles Ingold, Charles Taylor, Clyde Whit, Russ Cameron and Scott Baker; grandsons, Justin, Zach, and Dale; and many more great nieces, nephews, and friends. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2011, at Golden Springs Freewill Baptist Church in West Virginia. Interment will follow at Damron Cemetery.
