

Winifred Jones McCormick, age 91, of Columbus, died Sunday, December 26, 2010, at her home at Trillium Place, Preceded in death by husband J. Robinson McCormick, father and mother Charles Herbert Jones and Anna Gladys Parry Jones, sisters Margaret Jones Lange (Madison Wisconsin) and Dorothy Jones Lowe (Batavia Illinois). Survived by children Dixon McCormick of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, J. Luke McCormick (Mary Beth) of Columbus, Ohio, Megan (Lou) Annecharico of Tomball, Texas; grandson Travis McCormick of Huntington Beach, California; numerous nieces and nephews. She earned her B.A. degree from Denison University where she was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority. She was a teacher in Lebanon Ohio from 1941-1942; a model in New York City from 1942-1944, a cabin attendant for Trans World Airlines from 1943-1946, and in quality control for T.W.A. from 1986-1991. Member of Scioto Country Club and the Women’s Board of the Columbus Museum of Art. She was an avid bridge and tennis player. Family will receive friends from 10-11am Friday, December 31, at Trillium Place, 3500 Trillium Crossing, near Sawmill. Memorial service will be held there at 11am. Rev. Andrew Hoover officiating. Arrangements by the Schoedinger Northwest Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the J. Robinson McCormick Scholarships at Columbus Rotary, 1225 Dublin Rd. Suite B, Columbus, OH 43215; or Delta Gamma Foundation, 3250 Riverside Dr. Columbus, OH 43221, in her memory.
