Marion Theresa Ellis

With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Marion T. Ellis, who passed away peacefully with her children by her side on January 4th, 2026 in Hackettstown, New Jersey. A native of Rockland County, New York, Marion grew up in Congers, New York. Marion then moved to Suffern NY with the love of her life, Alex where together they raised their two adoring children, Nick and Natalie. In later years, Marion resided in Columbia, New Jersey.

Marion attended Clarkstown North High School as well as Rockland Community College. Starting her career in the restaurant industry, Marion worked at the Ramsey Country Club before moving into the medical administrative field. Over the next 30 years Marion worked at Suffern Family Dental and Alan Lasker DDS. Always in patient and customer-facing roles, Marion’s kind and gentle demeanor allowed her to build lifetime friendships throughout her career.

Marion leaves a legacy of caring, compassion, thoughtfulness and an inherent appreciation for life. Her interests included local and family history, photography, travelling, reading, and a deep love for animals. Never one to turn down a reason to smile, Marion also enjoyed exploring new places for dining out and zestfully enjoyed all types of comedy.

Marion is predeceased by her parents, Bernard Ellis and Ruth Ellis, her life partner, Alex Kotsidis, Brother-in-Law David Hoppe and Sister-in-Law Cathy Ellis. She is survived by her sister, Carmen Hoppe, brothers, Rudy Ellis and Harold Ellis, and her children Nick Kotsidis and Natalie Kotsidis.

A wake will be held at Higgins Funeral Service, located at 113 Lake Road in Congers, NY on Friday, January 9th from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM. On Saturday, January 10th, a funeral mass will be held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, located at 82 Lake Road, Congers, NY. A mass of Christian Burial will follow thereafter at Gethsemane Cemetery in Rockland Lake NY.

In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make an equivalent donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the ASPCA in honor of Marion.
