 Obituario de Harley "Laddie" Weston
Harley Ladd “Laddie” Weston, 83, of the Everton community, died Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at his residence. Harley was born at home in Connersville on April 25, 1930 to Floyd and Rachel Ladd Weston. He attended school in Everton and served as a U.S. Army Staff Sergeant during the Korean War as a demolition expert. Harley was a member of the American Legion, Post 1 and Veterans of Foreign Wars, both of Connersville. For over 40 years, He was employed at Visteon and its predecessors as a press operator and in the shipping department. Harley enjoyed farming and working outside. Harley is survived by his children and their spouses: Cheryl Calhoun and Cleves of Kansas City, Kansas; Vicky Vail and Bruce of Richmond; Mark Weston and Pamela of Connersville; Aimee Weston of Missouri; his brother and sister-in-law: Marion C. Weston and Barbara of Everton; eight grandchildren: Greg, Deanne and Darrell Pumphrey; Kirk Vail, Jill Baker, Jeremy Weston, Elizabeth Legere, Kolton Brown; nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Harley was preceded in death by his wife, the former Cledith Whitaker who died August 12, 2013; and a brother: Leonard Weston. Funeral services for Harley will be conducted at 12 p.m. Monday, at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Pastor Ralph Morris of the Brownsville Chapel, officiating. Interment will follow in Everton Cemetery with military graveside services provided by the Fayette County Veterans Council. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 10 a.m Monday until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW National Home for Children.
