 Obituario de Vicki L. Brown
We’re sorry to announce the passing of Vicki L. (DeMoss) Brown on Thursday, December 10th, 2020. Beloved wife of Walter H. Brown Jr. and Loving mother to Julie (Nathan Daniel) and Justin (Ashley Prifogle) Brown, proud grandmother to Sydney "Silent Sam", Sarah "Chatterbox", Josephine "Jo Jo", and Neveah "Jack Jack" and Alex and Jenna Johnson. Vicki was born to Nolan E. and Elizabeth J. (Rowe) DeMoss on January 9, 1952 in Connersville. She was a graduate of the class of 1970. On April 8, 1972 she married Walter and started on their journey together. Vicki retired from the former Fayette Regional Health System where she had been employed for several years as a CNA in the surgery department (her second home where she mothered everyone). She was always ready to discuss politics and had a passion for stating her opinion on the current issues that were most important to her. Vicki enjoyed spending time with her family, mushroom hunting, jewelry making, sewing, rock tumbling, cooking, baking and decorating cakes (which were amazing!), playing cards, and traveling with Walter in their RV. She was a proud member of the Fayette County Democrats Association. In her leisure time, you could find her on social media playing LaBelle Lucy, Mahjong, Crosswords or her loved Farmville. Besides her loving husband, children, and grandkids, Vicki is survived by her sisters: Rita Goodner, Nola (Patrick) McGlothen, Mona (John) Rowland; brother: Marvin (Donna) DeMoss; Sister and brother in laws: Janet and Jim Payne, Betty and Louis Petticrew, Carlyon and Larry Hofer, David and Kathy Brown, Becky and Harold Coker, Patty and Chip Rudicil, and Ed and Judy Brown. In addition to her parents, Vicki is preceded in death by two children: Walter Howard Brown III and James Alexander Brown; her sister: Amy Horn; Brother in law: Lynn Goodner and Don Petticrew; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Friday, December 18, 2020 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville with Pastor Gwen Pew officiating. Friends may visit the funeral home from 12 p.m. until time of service. Following the CDC and State COVID guidelines masks are required and social distancing will be followed. Memorial contributions may be made at the funeral home to the Tree donation program at Robert’s Park in memory of Vicki.
