

Mary “Meg” Jeffrey, age 48, of Atlanta, died Tuesday, May 11, 2010. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday May 15th, 2010, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, at 10:00 a.m., with Father John Walsh as celebrant. Interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial in Covington.
Born in Selfridge AFB, MI, Mrs. Jeffrey was a long time resident of Atlanta. A 1983 graduate of Emory University School of Nursing, Mrs. Jeffrey was a tireless worker and champion with the organ transplant programs of Piedmont Hospital, Lifelink and Emory Healthcare. Her last assignment was the Outreach Coordinator for Emory Transplant Services. Her passion and mission was to help all those who needed transplants, who had transplants and her doctors who helped so many.
She is survived by her husband, Charlie Jeffrey of Atlanta; mother-in-law, Charlotte Jeffrey of Gainesville, FL; brother-in-law, Richard Jeffrey of Marietta, GA; sister-in-law, Patricia Lawrence of Washington, D.C.; father and step-mother Dee and Larry Gazzola of Conyers; sisters and brother-in-laws, Jennifer and Captain Todd Parker of Conyers; Elizabeth “Liz” and Major Dave Brazeau of Japan; nieces and nephews Jacob, Eden, Meghan, Patrick, Lindsay, Adam and Jamie and her beloved Golden Retriever “Kodi”. Meg is loved and will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Agnes Phillips Gazzola.
The family will receive friends Friday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Horis A Ward funeral home in Conyers. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Georgia Transplant Foundation, 6600 Peachtree Dunwoody Road, 600 Embassy Row Suite 250 Atlanta, GA 30328 for a scholarship in Mrs. Jeffrey’s name.
