Deborah Ann Ugalde, 66, of Casa Blanca, passed away on April 13, 2025. Born in Phoenix, Arizona, to Andreas and Lillian Jackson, Deborah was one of nine siblings and grew up surrounded by a large and loving family.
Deborah had a strong spirit and a sharp sense of honesty, never one to sugarcoat, she always said it like it was. She had a deep passion for teaching, and her strength and directness left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Beyond the classroom, Deborah found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was experimenting with bold new hairstyles or spending time at her favorite spot, Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino.
Family was at the center of Deborah’s world. She is survived by her son, Anthony Smith, and by her beloved nieces and nephew whom she raised as her own, Christopher Jackson and Carol Makil. She also leaves behind her siblings Andrea Nelson, Franklin Jackson Sr., and Reynold Jackson, along with six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many more extended family and friends who will miss her deeply.
Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, Andreas and Lillian Jackson, and four of her siblings. Her legacy of love, honesty, and unwavering dedication to family lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
