Dennis was born on September 11, 1946 in Joliet, Illinois.
He was raised in Orland Park, Illinois and graduated from Carl Sandburg High School, class of 1964. Dennis enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1965 and was stationed in Germany and Fort Benning, Georgia. He was honorably discharged in 1968. He married Deborah (Horn) Bormet on February 3, 1967 while on leave. They spent 58 wonderful years together. Dennis was a truck driver for 50 years. He valued hard work and honesty and made sure to instill his values in his children. He cherished his family above all else.
His interests included racing, motorcycles and classic cars. He could often be found in his shop working on his latest project. His humorous stories growing up were enjoyed by his grandchildren.
Dennis was a devoted husband to Deborah (Horn) Bormet; cherished son to the late Henry and Helen (Hentsch) Bormet; dear brother to the late Leroy Bormet and Carol (Richard) Hedke; loving father to Brian (Jennifer) Bormet and Nicole (Michael) Linko; cherished “Papa” to Sydney and Derek Linko and Jack and Jake Bormet; special friend to Jake Stabosz and Stephanie Sams; and his beloved German Shepherd, Ruger.
