He was born on August 4, 1960, in Sacaton to Roberta Georgene Johns. Julian, known to his close friends and family as “Bob,” was a vibrant, funny, and deeply compassionate man whose presence brought light and joy to everyone around him.
Bob was a talented and award-winning musician who shared his gift with the community for many years. He had the honor of singing three times at Arizona Diamondbacks games and received an Alice Cooper Christmas award. He performed with his own band and became a familiar and beloved figure throughout Pinal County, playing regularly over the past nine years at venues including the Galloping Goose, Windmill Winery, A Latte Vino, and the River Bottom, among many others.
In addition to his music, Bob faithfully served on the worship team at his church, the Cowboy Church. His love for the Lord was evident in his daily life—he would pray with anyone, anywhere, and lived as a true example of kindness and humility. He never gossiped, never spoke poorly of others, and carried a heart free of hate. Bob had a beautiful soul and a rare ability to make everyone he met feel valued and special.
Above all, Bob loved his family. They were his greatest joy and the center of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Katalin Leduc; his children, Michelle Villa-Stidham, James (Keilah) Villa, and Joel Villa; his siblings, Gabriel Gonzales, Felicia Gonzalez, Marcella Gonzalez, and Elena Martinez; his grandchildren, Anthony and Amanda Stidham; and Mazzie Villa, the mother of his children.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Roberta Georgene Johns, and his brother, Peter Gonzalez.
Bob will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his music, his faith, and the love he gave so freely to all who knew him.
