From a young age, Larry showed what it meant to be devoted to family. He helped care for his siblings and took on responsibility early in life, always putting others before himself.
In 1988, Larry married Linda Porter, and together they built a loving home, blending their families and welcoming two daughters. He was a dedicated and hardworking man who spent many years working at Gila River Farms before retiring. He took great pride in his work and in providing for his family.
Larry was not only a loving husband and father, but also a passionate coach and mentor. Alongside his late wife, he helped create a tee ball team known as the Lil’ Rebels. The team practiced on the sandlot and traveled to different reservations, creating lasting memories and bringing joy to many children and families.
As his family grew, Larry found his greatest happiness in his grandchildren. They were the center of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Larry was a devoted San Francisco 49ers fan, but above all, he was his grandchildren’s biggest supporter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry Porter Sr. and Veronica Williams; his wife, Linda Porter; and his siblings, Lorinda Porter, Francis Porter, Walter Porter, Michelle Williams, and son Daniel White.
He is survived by his children, Laurie Porter, Vannessa Porter-Antone, Robert Favela, and Stephanie Jose; as well as 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Larry will be remembered for his strength, kindness, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy will live on through all who knew and loved him.
He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
