Wayne was a true cowboy in every sense of the word. He began his rodeo journey as a bareback rider, later discovering a deep passion for bull riding, and eventually partnered in team roping with his son, Gary. His days were often spent tending to his cattle—work he cherished. Beyond the arena, Wayne dedicated his time to teaching younger generations the art and heart of bull riding, ensuring the spirit of the sport lived on.
A man of faith and music, Wayne loved singing gospel songs and often traveled throughout the community and sister communities to share his voice at services and gatherings.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; his children Gary D. Allison, Wayne Allison Jr., Waynelynn De Herrera, Latewa Allison, Armida Allison, and Darian Allison; four stepchildren; and his sisters, Rowena Juan and Alma Allison. Wayne also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Edna; his sons Walter, Darrell, Leonard, Reynold, and Johnny Allison; and his siblings Luther Allison Jr., Diane Allison, Fletcher Allison, and Harless Allison.
Traditional services will be held at 7:00 AM on Monday, May 12th, at Lower Santan Presbyterian Church, with burial to follow at Stotonic Cemetery.
Wayne's legacy as a cowboy, teacher, gospel singer, and devoted family man will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
