William Stone, 74, of Casa Blanca, Arizona, passed away on April 20, 2026. He was born in Sacaton on September 23, 1951, to Leonard P. Stone and Thamer P. Enos, and grew up as one of fourteen children in a large and close-knit family.
Throughout his life, William was known as a steady and hard-working man who devoted his working years to agriculture, serving as a heavy equipment operator. His work reflected a deep sense of responsibility and perseverance—qualities that shaped the way he lived and the respect he earned from those around him.
In his younger years, William loved sports and played baseball and basketball with community teams. He also enjoyed spending time at the local casinos, where his easy manner and welcoming spirit helped him form many friendships. Over time, those friendships became something more: a circle of people who looked after him, stopped by with meals, and shared time in conversation and companionship. They were his adopted family, and they called him “dada.”
William is survived by his son, Maurice Stone; his siblings, Phyllis, David, Robert, Roger, Carol, Edward, Rebecca, Louise, Leah, Donald, and Leonora; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard P. Stone and Thamer P. Enos; his son, Kevin; his siblings, Colleen, Gregory, and Lila; and his significant other, Barbara Cannon.
