Ardella "Dee" Korynta

Dee was born in Rural Elgin, ND, August 15, 1946. She was the fifth child of John and Emma (Sprecher) Verworn. She graduated from the University of North Dakota with a bachelor’s degree in social work. Dee was united in marriage to Dennis Korynta on January 2, 1971. To this union, 4 daughters and 3 sons were born.

Dee had many occupations and passions. Before children she was a social worker at North Memorial Hospital. Shortly after getting married, the couple moved to Panama while Dennis served in the Navy. A few years later they moved to Minnesota where Dee became a homemaker and volunteer librarian at Northside Christian School. She loved spending time at Way of the Lord Church and volunteered as an intercessor where she spent countless hours praying for anyone who wanted prayer. She loved people from all nations and walks of life and invited many people into her home to share a meal or holiday celebration. She was a great cook and made thousands of meals to feed her large family! She enjoyed making some German family favorites. Dee was a fighter. She overcame several large challenges, disabilities, and surgeries in her life. She also lost a baby to a heart condition, and raised six amazing children. She had many great qualities and strong character. A few really stood out: her bright smile, her strong love for Jesus, her kindness, and her compassion for all people.

Dee is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Dennis Korynta; Children: Tamara (Tim) Miller (grandchildren: Tigist and Tianna), Rana Korynta, Daniel (Hilary) Korynta (grandchildren: Zion, Violet, and Selah), David Korynta, Nathan (Carrie) Korynta (grandchildren: Olivene, AnnaMae, Jonathan, and Abraham), and Lora Korynta; Siblings: Ronald (Linda) Verworn, Wilbert (Florence) Verworn; and many other family members and friends.

Dee is preceded in death by her daughter, Anna Korynta (lived 8 days); parents, John and Emma Verworn; brother, John (Phyllis) Verworn; sister, Marcella (Ernest) Will.

A Visitation for Dee will be held Monday, February 19, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Way Of The Lord Church, 804 131st Avenue NE, Blaine, Minnesota. Funeral service at 11:00 AM, and luncheon to follow. Interment at 2:00 PM at Morningside Memorial Gardens, 11800 University Ave, Coon Rapids.
