Brian Lloyd Barker, age 64, passed away December 9, 2021, surrounded by his beloved children, Julie (Barker) & Matt Pagach, Lisa Barker, Jason Barker & fiancé, Taylor Pietersen. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Starla (Bates), his brother Laren & Margaret Barker, sister Aune & Aaron Hardt, cousins, nieces and nephews, and many “sports pals,” friends, and buddies from all over the world.
Brian was born in Mora, MN on July 3, 1957 to Stacy and Viola (Passehl) Barker. He grew up with cows, kittens, and a love of sports. He loved sports; from playing, coaching his kids, watching professional games, to collecting memorabilia. Brian’s career began in the finance field, but in 2010, his love of sports, people and adventure led him to delightedly found Pal’s Sports Cards, in Andover, MN. He truly loved working with customers, making friends while sharing his passion and his humble, unbeatable knowledge of the outstanding athletes highlighted on sports cards.
Brian always whole-heartedly enjoyed the simple things in life; from his children learning how to swing a bat to hearing an old joke. His laugh was quick and contagious. He brought joy to many, in a multitude of ways, and although we carry him in our hearts, he is lovingly missed.
Please join us for a celebration of Brian’s life in Andover on Saturday, January 15th, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
