He was born in Rutland, VT in 1958 to Claude and Virginia Wetherby, and spent his childhood playing in the woods and fishing to his heart's content. His siblings Sharon, Robin, and Steven shared many memories in the house some of his family still live in today.
In high school, he was great at math but excelled in music. He played the trumpet and sang baritone in the choir. It was in high school he met the love of his life Cindy Nadeau. They married and then he joined the Army to drive tanks in Germany. During his 10 years of service, his three children were born. Bonnie in Rutland, Vermont, Devan in Nuremberg, Germany, and Brian Keith in Fort Knox, Kentucky.
After the Army, they followed Cindy’s family (Leonard, Janice, Lori, Mike, and Mark Nadeau) to Minnesota to explore new opportunities. He had many jobs and was happy to claim the title Jack of All Trades. His favorite was working with special needs students at the middle and high school age. He went back to school and got his degree in Special Education and was happy in that job for years.
His legacy and memory will always be held by those he and Cindy loved. Their family: both biological and found. Their ‘bonus sister’ Val, with whom they had many arguments about who had the best birthday. The many ‘extra kids’ who knew that the Wetherby door was always open, and they all knew they could just drop in for a meal or a safe place on the couch if they needed it. Brian also appreciated his friends with whom he did his favorite things, playing computer games and golf.
Brian has now joined his parents, his father-in-law, and his loving wife. He will be lovingly remembered by his children Bonnie, Devan, and Brian Keith, his siblings, his in-laws, and all the ‘extra kids’ he claimed.
