Cynthia Lee Gillund Koerner

She was born to Verlyn and Willis Gillund. She was baptized at First Lutheran in Marshall on July 24th, 1955 and confirmed on May 17th, 1978.

She graduated from Marshall Senior High School in 1973 and went on to attend Willmar Vocational School for Cosmetology and later got her South Dakota Cosmetology license.

Cindy worked at J.C. Penney Salon in Sioux Falls, SD. Cindy was involved in Christian Singles where she met Mike Koerner. Mike and Cindy were married on July 9th, 1983 and they made their first home in Sioux Falls. In 1984, Cindy and Mike moved to Minneapolis and eventually made their home in Champlin, MN. In 2014, they moved back to Sioux Falls. Cindy worked as a hairdresser and later a Special Ed Para at Oxbow Elementary, Riverview Elementary, and later Frontier Elementary in Sioux Falls.

Cindy and Mike raised two daughters, Elizabeth (30) and Rachel (27).

Cindy is preceded in death by her parents, Verlyn &Willis, infant son Aaron Michael, mother-in-law and father-in-law Laura and Ed Koerner, grandpas and grandmas, aunts, and uncles.

She is survived by her husband Mike, daughters Elizabeth and Rachel of Minneapolis, sister Karen (Keith) of Coon Rapids, many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, and close friends.

Internment is a private ceremony at a later date.
