Dale M. Petersen

Age 84, went home to glory on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Beaver Dam Community Hospital. Dale was born to P.O. and Maybelle Petersen on October 17, 1926 in Brainerd, MN. He was a graduate of Washington High School in Brainerd, MN, Northwestern Bible School in Minneapolis, MN and Sioux Falls College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He married Florence Nicholson on August 24, 1945. They had two children, Sharon and Randel (Randy).

He pastored churches in St. James, Rose City and Princeton, MN. After that he worked in machine maintenance until he retired in 1989. Dale and Florence moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas and lived there for fifteen years where they were very involved in getting Village Bible Evangelical Free Church established. They have lived in Beaver Dam, WI for the past five years. He was a member of Randolph Evangelical Free Church. Dale and Florence enjoyed traveling, which included trips to India, the Holy Land, all of the United States including Alaska, and across Canada including the eastern provinces.

Dale is survived by his wife of 65 years, Florence Petersen; his daughter, Sharon (Rich) Sorensen, Randolph, WI; son, Randy (Lowana) Petersen, Cambridge, MN; grandchildren, Monica (John) Osterhaus, Chadwick, IL; Scott Sorensen, Randolph, WI; Branden (Jennifer ) Petersen, Little Elm, TX; Sean (Joe Hogue) Petersen, Sun Valley, CA; Angela Rushton, Cambridge, MN; and great grandchildren, Alan, Natalie and Racheal Osterhaus, Aiden and Emma Petersen, Wesley, Jonni and Kolby Rushton.

Funeral Service will be held 1:30 pm Wednesday, Nov. 3 at Gearhart Funeral Home (11275 Foley Blvd. NW, Coon Rapids, MN) with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment Morningside Memorial Gardens.
