Harold was our neighbor and he would always come over to talk to me whenever he saw me outside. I enjoyed talking with him and Freda whenever I would see them out walking with Bear. Harold was one of the nicest guys I have ever met. I will miss him. Rest in peace Harold.

Dad I'm not sure why noone thought of me as important enough to be told  that there was a celebration of life for you . That arrangements were made that did not even include a phone call.  noone called Dad why ??  . . My heart is broken in a million little pieces and my heart will never be put back together.  Our monthly lunch dates that will never happen again brings tears to my eyes. I just seen a memory pop up on my computer this morning of last year on this very day you were coming in for lunch and we were going to celebrate your birthday.  I would have kept you longer that day and not let go had I known it was the last time we would celerbate your birthday together . The let's jump on the Amtrak and see where we can go day trips will be forever missed . The see who could grow the bigger sunflowers was always a fun summer challenge. All the things we shared from day trips, to movies, feeding the ducks at the river . To hearing you say "hey you want to do lunch say Wednesday" Dad we shared so much in life over the course of  years we were able to build this unstoppable bond of father and daughter. I'll cherish all the memories we shared and everytime I look at those weird box shelves in my house I'll know you found those in the walls when we remodeled and you turned them into my all time favorite shelves . Dad I wish you didn't have to leave so early , that I could have held you longer in those good bye hugs before you left to go home. I don't think knowing a person's time is slowly slipping by makes the good bye any easier . Good byes are so permanent that's why it was always good to hear NEVER GOOD BYE ALWAYS SEE YOU LATER . I love you Daddy and nothing will ever fill the void in my heart for you . I was always your best kept secret. You were the most amazing Dad, Grandfather to your 3 granddaughters and the very best Great Grandfather to 8 tiny humans they could have ever had those kids cheshied every moment with you. We will always remember the fun we had when Harold stayed with us, whether it was while he was working for the railroad or just coming for a visit. Every memory will stay in our hearts forever. We love you Harold and hope you rest in peace. ❤❤❤❤❤ Love Lorraine and family

Grandpa, I cannot put into words how much you meant to me, Jake and the boys. As well as how much you meant to my mom/your daughter; Marcie, my dad, and my sisters.  

Grandpa, you were so good to the boys and I and we love you more than you would have ever known! Our hearts truly ache for your loss. I wish I could tell you I love you one more time and give you one more hug. 

I’ll miss the simple stuff with you. The way you would say “George” and how you would always tell me to “be safe.” I’ll miss the huge stack of coupons you would bring me because you always knew I was a sucker for a good deal. & Jake and the boys will miss your hunting stories. 

My memories with you were always simple ones. Not extravagant but simple and meaningful and that meant the absolute world to me! Thank you for that and thank you for the guidance you brought to my life as well.

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone that is affected by your loss.

Uncle Harry, even though we weren't blood, you were there for me from the day I was born. I learned so much from you and I am so honored that you cared for me. We had so many great adventures, and I wish that we could eat cheeseburger casserole at the cabin one more time. Our laughs and your trinkets of wisdom will never be forgotten.

There are many thoughts and prayers going out from all of the Peka/Hoaglund/Ahl/Rocca families to Freda and the family. He was a great man!

Truly one of the most amazing men I have ever met!! I got to know and spend so many mornings having coffee with this wonderful human over the past several years and will miss him very much. He had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. I will miss his smile, our ranger rides, the random chats, and all of the stories he shared with me. We love you, Harry!!! Our hearts are breaking for you and Freda. Although I wish it would have brought better news, I will cherish our last phone call and only wish we could have seen your face up here in the woods one last time.
