My family and I have been long-time clients of Jerry's.  I am so, so sad to hear of his passing.  Jerry was the greatest guy, not only because he was so quick to fix any of our boat problems, but because he was the friendliest, most honest, hard-working, down-to-earth guy.  I enjoyed visiting with him every time he came to our lake to help me with the boats.  I will truly miss seeing Jerry every summer and his wonderful smile and kind heart.  My sincerest sympathy to his fiancé and family. God bless you Jerry.

Prayers to John, Dorothy, Suzy, the Kotalik clan and friends! Although most of my memories are from when we were younger and all our trips to Grand Forks, they were great times that keeps Jerrys smile forever carved in my mind. He thoug ht of and helped others so much. He stopped by my place a few years ago. A day I will never forget. He was traveling from down south to home. I remember asking him for his email address or if he was on facebook. He just chuckled and said 'you like that stuff huh'. He would drive 100 miles to see you before he'd waste time on an email! Love h ou Jerry! Keep smiling over all!

My prayers to you all! As everyone has said Jerry always took care of and thought of others. I am so sorry to hear about your loss.  I knew Jerry when we were young kids in Grand Forks.  He was such a nice, caring and friendly guy.  Thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

My deepest sympathy for Susy, her family and the Kotalik family. Jerry made Susy so happy. She always smiled and giggled when she talked about him. I knew Susy was crazy for him when shortly after they met I would hear that she had gone off hunting or ice fishing and that she even would wear camo gear. What? Susy? Yes. He brought her so many new experiences and so much love.

Jerry was the nicest guy you'd ever meet. In the summertime, over the 4th of July when Jerry was slammed with work, if there was ever one tiny thing wrong with one of our boats or jet skis he would insist on taking time out of his schedule to come over and fix it. Sometimes Susy wouldn't even want me to mention that anything on the boats was broken because she knew he  would insist on making time to come over-just one more job to add to his busy schedule. That was the kind of guy he was. He would pleasantly greet us girls as we lounged on the dock and then off to work he went again! I will miss seeing him this summer. My heart hurts for Susy but I am grateful for the time that she did have with Jerry.

I don't have the words,  upon hearing of your loss my heart fell.  I was at a Xmas party and received a call from my Mom.  Needless to say, it sent a wake of emotion through all of us, many who did not know Jerry, and brought home the true meaning of Christmas and the foundation of faith and appreciation for the time spent with those we love.

I can't find any words to assuage the agony and anguish that the two of you must be suffering through...  Life is a cherished thing, and I've seen it come and go quickly in my short time, especially with my line of work....

I wish I could be there with you through these tough times, as the two of you have always been so supportive and close to me.

I know the both of you will get through this, just know that we are all here with you in spirit carrying his torch and passion for life.

I am so sorry for your loss and as I sit here by the fire after a long day at work, I ponder the trivial things in my day and life that I take so seriously.  It's moments like these that make all of us appreciate family, who we are, and where we came from.  I know Jerry was thankful for the time he spent with you, two amazing and loving parents.

Both of you, and Jerry, will be in my thoughts and prayers this week.  If there is anything I can do, please don't hesitate to ask- and ill be there in a heartbeat....

My deepest sympathy  and prayers to the Kotalik family and Suzy's family. Jerry and I have been friends since jr high, through high school  and even through college. He was an amazing guy who loved life, his family and friends, and lived it to the fullest.
 He helped me with my car when I was having car issues and even  helped me get back to Minneapolis for my grandmother's funeral with a buddy pass on Northwest after I had moved to Las Vegas. He was that guy who always found a way to help out!!
He was loved by many and will be missed greatly!!  I cherished our friendship Jerry and the world is a little bit dimmer without you here.  In honor of you...   GO SIOUX!!!

I have never meet a man as great as you. You truly were on of the greatest men i have ever meet. You were always so kind and I really knew you cared for me. You treated me like one of your own kids. I will continue to work hard and be happy to make you proud, just like you always told me.  I'm so glad we became such good buds. I know your up in heaven and looking down on me and watching over me- my guardian angel.   I love you and I will miss you.

When we traveled to visit my Grandma in Grandforks when we were kids, Jerry would always be there ready to play.  My twin sister and I loved being with him!  He was quick to laugh and was such a sweetheart!  My heart goes out to the Kotalik family and his fiance and her family, he was far to young.  I hope you take great comfort in with knowing Jerry is with his heavenly father.

Although I only have known Jer a couple years, I can honestly say there is not another man that I had more respect for. His work ethic, his love of friends and family are second to none. I especially got to witness first hand for his love of Susy. They were 2 peas in a pod. Or as they went on Halloween this year, bacon and eggs. And this one's for you Jer...GO SIOUX!!!

Jerry, the World loves you, Rest in Peace !

I love you. I love you for your smile, and the ways you made me laugh. I love you for how you looked at the world, for your good heart and quick mind, and for the many ways you were my truest, closest friend. But most of all...I love you for your love- the kind of amazing, generous love that has absolutely changed my life for the better. Thinking of my life without you is unimaginable.

Jerry was a Hardworking, Caring, Thoughtful, and Compassionate guy. I have never witnessed true love until Jerry came into my Mothers life. He treated her with the Love that she deserved and I have never seen my mother So happy in her entire life. Jerry was the best Father figure I have ever had and he taught me something new every time we hung out. Above all Jerry was a Very close Freind and I will truly miss his company. You'll always have a place in my heart Jerry! I Miss You

Grief can be so hard during the holidays, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your loved one this holiday season.

 We met Jerry through some  friends and had the privilege of spending many New Years weekends at the Hunting Shack with him and then also with Sue after they met.  Never did we think we would be spending the same weekend attending his services.  It is still a shock to us. Jerry was such a wonderful guy and we feel lucky to have known him.  Words cannot do justice in describing this remarkable man who left a lasting impression on all those that knew him.   Our New Years weekends will never be the same but we will forever cherish our memories of him.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

Henry and I are so saddened to hear about Jerry's death.  It is so hard for a parent to bury a child.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Jerry took care of winterizing and storing our boat for several years.  One of the last times, someone was helping him get it into the lake in the spring and let the rope gol  I looked out, and there was our pontoon drifting aimlessly in the middle of the lake!!  He hitched a ride out to it and got it delivered to our dock...we laughed at "the one that got away!!!".  He was a great guy to do business with...always there when we needed something and SO friendly...our prayers and hears go out to your family.

The first time I met Jerry he came to fix my car at 10 pm on a hot summer night - he had been working since 5 am! He was a hard worker and honest. He then started dating my sister and she fell madly in love with him . Jerry was the love of her life and I hope she can recover from the loss of him.Jerry was fun to go out with and always ready to lend a hand to help and fun to go have drinks with! His 4th of Julys will never be forgotten! I will miss him very much and his death was a shock and a devastating loss to our family.

Our prayers go out to John & Dorothy and brothers and sisters for their loss.  Your life has been cut short and will trully be missed.  Cousin Irene (Noble) Kotalik

I met Jerry through my sister Tatum. He was a good dude. He came hunting on my parents ranch near Grassy Butte. He also came during branding in the spring. Always smiling and going out of his way to lend a hand. He will be greatly missed by my family and myself. Rest in Peace Jerry and my deepest condolences to your family.

Jerry was an outstanding guy with an amazing personality. He left along lasting impression on every person that he met. Jerry would help me on everything that i needed improvement on like school work, or pulling my toes in the morning to get up so I wasn't lazy when I was older. I loved Jerry on the inside out.

To the Kotalik family and Susy and Family-  
I have Known Susy most of my life and I want to say that Jerry was one of the best people I have ever known.  He made Susy the person she was meant to be.  He gave her unconditional love beyond any man I have ever known.  Her face light up every time she said his name, even after years together. My heart goes out to all of you and Jerry will be dearly missed by many!

I was so sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. My grandparents Ada and Wilbur owned the house behind the Kotalik's in Grand Forks. My twin sister and I always looked forward to visiting our grandparents because that meant getting to spend time with Jerry. We always had a great time with him. I remember his huge smile and gentle heart. May Jerry rest in peace!

Thanks for all the great conversations about life and what I should or should not be doing until I grew up! The best uncle with the greatest personality. Love you Hommie <3
