Still young at the age of 90, JoAnn Goodwin, of Spring Lake Park passed away on July 29th, with Walter, her husband of 70 years at her side. Described as loving, feisty, mischievous, spry, and fun-loving, JoAnn was a doer and giver. She was always busy, making or baking things for her family and church; gardening; playing cards; and attending the kids’ games and dance performances. She was known and loved for her humor, warmth and baked goods. She loved people, especially her friends at church and her card club. Central to her heart was her family. JoAnn and her loving husband Walter were devoted to one another. They belonged to Christ Lutheran Church for 60 years, were charter members and volunteered often. Their church friends were their spiritual family. JoAnn worked in the library in School District 16 for 23 years, and greatly enjoyed the kids and coworkers.
She is survived by her husband, Walt, her children Scott (Donita) and Dianne (Tracie); her loving grandchildren Todd (Shelly), Cori (Mike), Rich (Carrie) and Dawn (Chad) and great grandchildren Makayla, Zak, Kaylee, Layne, Lylli, Mickey, Olivia and Vivian; siblings Pat, Jim (Judy) and Sharon; cherished in-laws Gene, Marilyn, Dan and Shirley; and her many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Visitation and a Celebration of her life will be held August 10th at Christ Lutheran Church, 641 89th Ave NE, Blaine, MN. Visitation begins at 10; Service is at 11 and lunch will follow.
