

Age 54, of Ham Lake, Passed away February 10, 2022
Jon is survived by his wife Stacy of 25 years; daughters, Jordan and Mackenzie; mother
Marlene Hamann; sister Denise Velek; and nieces Kristina and Kaitlyn Velek. he is preceded in
death by his father, Roger Hugo Hamann.
Jon graduated from Jefferson High School in Bloomington, Minnesota. He then moved onto
graduating from the University of St. Thomas in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. After
college, he entered the private investigation field in 1998. He worked for several different
investigative companies, including creating and co-owning his own for a time.
Having a lifelong passion for music, he wrote and played his music in the band Pocketful ‘A’
Change under the stage name Jon Walter Hugo. The band became well-known in the Twin City
music scene, often performing in bars and venues throughout Minnesota.
The most memorable qualities of Jon to the people who knew him were his gregarious laugh
and wonderful sense of humor. He was known for being selfless and offered help to those he
saw in need, both for people he knew and strangers alike. In the weeks leading up to his death,
many of the coworkers and musicians in his life came forward to say they viewed Jon as a
mentor. He was dedicated and focused in everything he did, from work to his music, giving his
all for any task in front of him. This included his relationships and friendships with others.
He will be greatly missed by so many people and he is gone too soon at 54 years old. We hope
he will be remembered through his music and in the good memories shared by those around
him.To those grieving, take a moment to think about the laughs, the beers, and chances to learn
you shared with Jon so we can continue to celebrate the life he had
Celebration of Life Service for Jon will be 3:00 pm Monday, February 21, 2022 at Gearhart Funeral Home (11275 Foley Blvd. NW., Coon Rapids) Visitation from 1:30pm until time of service at the funeral home.
