Preceded in death by parents, Milton & Marion Sethney; loving husband, LeRoy; son, Matthew; grandson, Aaron Jurek; brothers, John & Jim Sethney.
Karyn was born on October 12, 1941, in Minneapolis, the eldest of six siblings. She graduated from Anoka High School in 1959. Karyn joined together into Holy Matrimony with LeRoy on June 10, 1961. Together they raised three children in Coon Rapids. She worked as a legal secretary for many years, retiring after LeRoy’s death in 2007.
Karyn enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas with her daughters and granddaughters, reading, watching game shows and tennis, playing cards, and spending time with family. She taught her daughters to be independent women, and loving wives, mothers, mothers-in-law, and grandmothers.
Survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and John Jurek, and Lynn and Michael Morgan; granddaughters, Sara (Jamie) Morgan and Rianna Jurek; grandson Jackson Morgan; great-grandson, Gunnar Morgan; sisters, Sharan Petterson, Joanette (Dennis) Larson, Sheila (Doug) Mayer; sisters-in-law, Sr. Kathleen Skog, Geri Dols, Jacquie Skog, Joannie Skog, Dawn Sethney; many nieces and nephews; special friends Fran Cronin and Terrie Widstrom.

Join us to celebrate the lives of Karyn and Matthew from 4 to 8 pm on Friday, May 2, 2025, at Gearhart Funeral Home, 11275 Foley Blvd NW, Coon Rapids. Private interment will take place at Epiphany Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
