Laura found her greatest joy in life’s simple pleasures: tending to her garden, spending peaceful days at the lake, a love for books and reading, and being surrounded by family. She loved cooking for those she cherished, always making sure that every dog had a treat before dinner was served to their human counterparts. Her home was filled with laughter, especially as she delighted in the shenanigans of her grandchildren. With patience and gentle humor, she took pride in teaching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren the importance of “grandma manners.” She had a special fondness for lighthouses, drawn to their beauty and symbolism, and she shared a deep bond with her beloved dog, Maggie. She will be remembered for her warmth, her laughter, and the love she so freely gave to all—both two-legged and four-legged alike.
She was preceded in death by husband, Michael.
Laura is dearly missed by her loving dog, Maggie; children, Tim (Julie), Lynnette (Steve); grandchildren, Ashley (Joe), Jessica (Andy), Nicole (Aaron), Jeremy (Sara); great-grandchildren, Dakota, Jordan, Charlotte, Carly, Talon, Ally; brother, Emmett (Kathy); sisters, Donna (Arne), Linda (Wayne); and many other extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held on January 6, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at Gearhart Funeral Home, located at 11275 Foley Blvd NW, Coon Rapids, MN 55448. The funeral service will follow at 11:30 am at the same location.
A graveside service is scheduled for 1:30 pm at Morningside Memorial Gardens, 11800 University Ave Northwest, Coon Rapids, MN 55448.
