passed away April 19, 2015 at the age of 84.
He was born January 15, 1931 to the late Carl and Delia (Vick) Steen in Decorah, IA. Lester graduated from Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL in 1952 with a Bachelor of Music degree. He married Ardis (Timm) Steen on June 4, 1952 in Shawano, WI.
Lester was a band instructor at High Schools in Elma, IA; Gresham, WI; Amherst, WI; Winston, OR; and Yoncalla, OR. Moving back to Wisconsin to be closer to family, he lived and worked in Green Bay and Manitowoc before moving to the Minneapolis area , where he lived and worked until retiring in Ham Lake.
Lester was a proud Norwegian and was known for his dry Norwegian sense of humor. He loved to hunt and fish, but in recent years, his life revolved around his family and friends, and his church…or to be more specific, his devotion to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. If there were two things that characterized Lester, it was his absolute integrity and his unconditional love for family and friends.
Lester is survived by his 3 Children, Barbra (Steve) Ronnenberg, Ham Lake, MN; Bill (Marsha) Steen, Big Lake, MN; and Bob (Jo) Steen, Green Bay, WI; 7 Grandchildren, Adam and Nick Steen, Rob and Aaron Chelberg, Carla Schultz, Aaron and Ryan Steen; 25 Great-grandchildren; Brother, Arthur Steen; 2 Sisters-in-law, Beverly Steen and Elaine Bieniewicz; 2 Brothers-in-law, Ron (Carmen) Timm and Dennis (Cheryl) Timm; and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
