When my sisters were little (Lorna, Cathy & Patty) my Dad taught them to sing a song entitled "High Hopes".  The words to the song went like this - "Once there was a little old ant, thought he'd move a rubber tree plant, but anyone knows an ant can't move a rubber tree plant, but he had high hopes, he had high hopes, high apple pie in the sky hopes."

My Lorna had high hopes, she hoped that she would beat that ugly cancer and she really tried. I never knew how
hard she could fight. She amazed me!

Lorna did have another hope and that was that one day she would dance with the King.  That hope came to realization because today she is dancing with Him. There is no more pain and no more suffering. 

I will love you forever. 

Missed more than anything - your sister Mary.

Lorna was born to George and Charlie Preston. She had 8 siblings. If you knew all these characters, this would say it all about the Lorna experience.
She was the 6th and I was the 7th.

Lorna discovered her independence and knew which path she was going to take very early on in her life. She rarely strayed from that path and was a force to be reckoned with. 

She was my sister, my best friend and a confidante. You had to earn her friendship, as she was very protective of her heart and her family. Once you earned that friendship, you became part of her family. 

Lorna was extrememly generous, so much so, she shared her beautiful daughter Tedie Jo with me, since I didn't have children of my own. Tedie is now more of a sister to me than a neice. 

Lorna and I shared so so much, especially music. when we were youngsters we would listen to the trasisitor radio singing as loud as we could and dance, dance, dance! 

Lorna's life read like a compliation of Bob Seger greatest hits, such as; 

Old Time Rock and Roll, Main Street, Her Strut, Still The Same, Turn The Page, Beautiful Loser, Against The Wind, You'll Accom'ny Me, Like a Rock and Wait For Me.  If you listen to anyone of these songs, you will be reminded of Lorna. 

I will miss my sweet sissy. My life will never be the same without you. Until I see you again, we will always have Poco Poco, Soso Soso. I love you Lorny

Loving, endlessly kind, ornery in the best possible way, super smart, funny, energetic, open, warm, adventurous, vulnerable, and tough, Lorna knew way better than most people how to truly be a friend. Thank you, friend Lorna, for your kindness and your company.

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief.  May your memories bring you comfort.

Lorna was so incredibly sweet and kind, I know she will be greatly missed. Sending love, hugs and prayers to all. God Bless.

Lorna holds so many memories in my heart. She was my "second" mom all those years at the paper. I will always remember her laugh, smile and frequent words of wisdom to me. She will be missed by so many and touched the hearts of so many more. I was truly blessed to have had the wonderful opportunity to work with her. She was, is and always will be....one amazing Miss Lorna :)
