Patricia Lou Schmitz was born March 19, 1940, in Oelwein, IA, the daughter of Orval and Merial (Harkin) Soper. Patricia married Peter Schmitz, of Wadena, MN, on June 5th, 1971 in Cedar Rapids, IA.
Patricia worked in customer service with multiple trucking firms and later worked for Radio City in Mounds View. Patricia was an avid casino goer, she loved to crochet, especially baby blankets. She enjoyed sitting on her porch and watching what was going on and she loved when all the family, kids, grandkids, and especially the great grandkids came to visit.
Patricia is survived by her husband of 49 years, Peter Schmitz; children, Eugene (Vonnie) Schmitz of St. Francis, MN; Jodi (Steve) Vance of Dennison, MN; Angela Grooms of Casa Grande, AZ; Michael (Becky) Strawn of Gilman, IA; Janice (Lyle) Palmer of Manchester, IA; Duane Strawn of Iowa City, IA; 3 brothers, 3 sisters, 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Betty, Connie, Marion; brother, Ronald; and grandchildren, Laura and Matthew.
Join us to Celebrate Patricia's Life on Wednesday May 26th, 2021 with visitation from 10:30 am to 11:00 am, and service at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Morningside Memorial Gardens in Coon Rapids. A luncheon will take place after interment at the Schmitz residence.
