Paul was a loving grandpa and was most proud of his grandkids, Catherine and Carson. He loved cruising on the lake in his SeaRay, with a Dewars in his hand relaxing and watching the sunset. Golfing also brought him a lot of joy. Paul enjoyed visiting Park Rapids, where we would spend time with his good friends, golf, boat, and enjoy sunsets. Illinois was also a favorite visiting spot, where he would spend time with all of his in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Carson will miss waking him up every Christmas morning to open presents and being asked if he could drive Carson's car. Catherine remembers going up to Park Rapids and getting into the truck to go to the dump with grandpa and Dave and then they would take her to get a snack. Or all of the times that grandpa would take her skiing on his boat. If you asked anyone what they will miss most they will say his ability to make them laugh or his Hummers (ice cream drink) but most of all the way that he loved everyone.
He is preceded in passing by his wife, Caryn; parents, Paul and Barbara Forton; brother, Jim; and mother and father-in-law, Eugenia and Robert Rankin.
Paul is survived by his daughter, Deanna (Dan) Rollings; grandchildren, Catherine (Jordan, Lyla) and Carson; siblings, Pat and Dale; in-laws, Pat (Mark), Chris (Steve), Nancy, Roy (Nan); many beloved nieces and nephews; and many family members and friends.
A celebration of Paul's life will be held on October 19th, 2024 at Dan and Deanna's home 14344 Washington St NE Ham Lake, MN 55304 between 1pm-5pm
