Aunt Auchie’s visits to Texas were always a highlight of Thanksgiving. She always showed a genuine interest in what had been happening in my life and she demonstrated a special kind of love that only an aunt can. That is until the afternoon football games started. Of course, just being a Cowboys fans gave Auchie all the excuse she needed to tease me unceasingly throughout the game. It didn’t matter if the Cowboys were winning … she’d just find any poor play as an opportunity to needle me. However, after the game was over, she’d just smile and hug me and tell me that was fun and how much she loved me. I loved her and appreciate the impact she has had on my life. Rest now, Auchie. Well done.

The first time I remember meeting  Auchie was at my marriage to Todd in 1992 (Donna’s son, Auchie’s nephew)

My fondest memories of Aunt Auchie revolve around Thanksgiving in Texas at Jack & Donna’s.  For many Thanksgivings , we all met together and the “Minnesota clan”, including Auchie would complain about how hot and humid the weather was in Texas. =) we compared dressing recipes and played dominoes. Seems like we always had a puzzle going too. 

We watched football that weekend and Auchie was a  huge Vikings fan! Of course, I was a Cowboy fan, so it was fun to tease about which team was better. 

Auchie’s smile, laugh and cheerfulness will be missed. I’m glad I got to know her.

I will never forget all the times she would run up and hug me in Rainbow Foods ( when it was still in business ) we would share about our families and it was so special she always loved me no matter what was going on.   She will be missed.  With all my love to her family.

Auchie was the life of every conversation she was in and even if she wasn’t a part of it she would make herself known which is one thing I loved about her. Her sense of humor was the greatest I had ever seen. No matter how long it had been between seeing each other she always rushed up and gave me and everyone else around the biggest hug and would always make sure we were doing well before herself. No matter what she was going through she would always be cracking jokes. We all love you auch and you will be greatly missed❤️

Auchi came all the way to Texas to my and Scott’s wedding.  She was so much fun and  brought laughter to conversations.  She will be greatly missed.  

Pauline loved Elvis so for her retirement we got Elvis to show up at work. (A big cardboard cutout) Pauline will be forever loved and missed. She sure was our little spitfire.

My brother and I would spend the Saturday night at grandma's. playing games like Burger Time on the Intellivision and watching movies. Go to church Sunday morning and head over to Khol's Kmart and ToyRus afterwards along with lunch. Grandma was always there when she could when help was needed. I may not be keeping up as I got older but always kept memories alive. The news was unbelievable at first but this is how life works and I hope she is much happier being with my little brother Jeremy and her son Tony.
