On June 25, 2025, Sharon Peterson was taken home into the arms of the Lord. Sharon passed as she lived, with quiet courage, following a 6-year battle with breast cancer and dementia. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Sharon was kind and welcoming to all. She particularly enjoyed hosting family and friends for holiday gatherings and parties. All who met her felt her warm and caring spirit.
Preceded in death by her mom, Barb; dad, Bill; and sister, Mary.
Survived by husband, Doug; children, Bill (Sara), Jim, Blake, Ashley (Chris), and Lucas (Emma); grandchildren, Alexis and Carson; sisters and brothers, Stephanie (Dan), Bill (Dean), Tim (Teima), Larry (Heidi), Pat (Shirley), and Nancy; father-in-law, Bill; sister-in-law, Deb (Barry); along with numerous nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service 11 am Thursday, July 3, 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church Anoka (1601 S. 4th Ave.)
Visitation 5-8 pm Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Gearhart Funeral Home - Coon Rapids (11275 Foley Blvd. NW.) and Thursday 10 am until time of service at church.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Sharon's name to St Jude Children's Research Hospital or The Dementia Society of America.
