Mr. Worthington was born in Brooklyn, New York to his late parents, John and Anna. After his education he entered the military and is a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. In his years of work, he was an Iron worker with the Iron Workers Union of the City of New York.
Surviving are his brothers, Paul Worthington and Richard Worthington; his sister, Patricia Leap; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Predeceasing him in addition to his parents is his sister, Cecelia Kavun and his brother, Harold.
Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 2-4:30 and 7-9:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday at 9:30 a.m., at St. Martin of Tours R.C. Church of Amityville. Interment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.
