It is with deep sorrow and loving remembrance that we announce the passing of Cissie Calvacca, who left us on March 17, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on November 7, 1958, to her beloved parents Barbara and Henry Burket, Cissie lived a life full of love, passion, and joy.
Cissie is survived by her devoted husband of 39 years, Vincent, and her daughter, Gina Calvacca. She was also cherished by her brother, Douglas Burket and his wife, Linda, who held her dear throughout her life. Cissie’s family was her heart, and her warm, nurturing spirit will live on in them forever.
Cissie was a woman with many interests, but perhaps none more so than her love of politics. She enjoyed keeping up with the world and engaging in thoughtful conversations about current events. When she wasn’t following the latest political news, Cissie could often be found relaxing in front of the TV, indulging in her favorite shows. A true animal lover, Cissie shared a special bond with her beloved cat, Buddy, and her loyal dog, Charlie. Her love for them was a reflection of the deep compassion she showed to all in her life.
Walking was another of Cissie’s passions. She found joy in taking long walks, connecting with nature, and finding peace in the simplicity of a stroll. Her walks were not just physical journeys but moments of reflection, where she could clear her mind and embrace the beauty of the world around her.
Friends and family will gather to celebrate her life at D'Andrea Bros. Funeral Home on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 2:00 - 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption RC Church in Copiague, NY, followed by interment at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY.
Cissie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit will never be forgotten, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were touched by her life. May she rest in peace.
