Rosario was born on December 6, 1945, in Heredia, Costa Rica, a place she carried in her heart throughout her life. Her humor, faith, and joyful spirit reflected the beauty of her homeland and touched all who were blessed to know her.
For 33 years, Rosario served as a teaching assistant with the Copiague Public Schools, where she lovingly supported children with special needs. She had a remarkable gift for seeing the potential in every child and helping them believe in themselves. Countless students and families were strengthened by her patience, compassion, and unwavering encouragement.
After her retirement, Rosario continued her life of service through volunteer work with the Sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville and as a dedicated Rosarian with Our Lady of the Assumption (OLA). She volunteered her time with OLA’s outreach program and served as a Eucharistic Minister. Her Catholic faith guided her life and inspired her commitment to helping others.
Rosario was married to her beloved husband, George, for 62 years. Together they built a life centered on faith, love, and family. They traveled to Costa Rica frequently to stay connected with her large and loving family. They also treasured their time spent traveling to a variety of new places and experiencing many different cultures.
Rosario was known for her vibrant personality and her generous, loving heart. She delighted in shopping and dressing beautifully, and her style and grace were as bright as her spirit. She embraced every opportunity to laugh and celebrate. Above all, she loved loving her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her beloved husband, George; her devoted daughters, Rose and Yvette (James); her cherished grandsons, E.C (Kristen), Matthew (Mackenzie), and Zachary and her great grandson, Peyton. She is reunited in heaven with her treasured grandson, Patrick, who predeceased her.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Rosario’s life at a wake on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at D’Andrea Brothers Funeral Home in Copiague, New York. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 9:45 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Copiague, New York.
Rosario will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her kindness, her faith, and the boundless love she gave to all.
