

Roy is a native Long-Islander; having been born in Huntington, to his late parents, James and Florence (nee Murray). After finishing his education, he served in the U.S. Army. He met his future bride, the former Irene Blanche DeMers, in Huntington where they both grew up. They married in October of 1959, and bought their home in Lindenhurst in 1960; where they raised their family. In his spare time, Roy enjoyed carpentry as he has a passion for building things; as well as enjoying time on the water fishing and boating.
Roy is predeceased by his son, Rory Michael. Surviving is his beloved wife, Irene; his children - Anne Marie (Phillip), Bernadette (Gerard) and Christine (Sam); his grandchildren - Roy, Paul, Brianna, Gregory, Michael, Shreen, Joseph and David; and his great-grandchildren - Aidan and John.
Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Friday and Saturday, from 2:00 - 4:30 and 7:00 - 9:30 p.m. On Saturday evening, the Catholic Wake Service will be offered at 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. In recognition and in thanks of Mr. Galbraith's service to our country as a U.S. Army veteran, Military Honors will be conducted during the evening hours on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Cremation services will follow and are private.
