Billy Calvin Godwin, 89, passed away Monday, February 29, 2016 in Dallas. Billy was a loving husband to his wife Judy, father to Julie Lyn and Jonathan Willis Godwin, and adoring grandfather to Tyler Gleason and Jordan Gleason. Everyone considered Billy a brain especially in math and science, and even engineering. He was a paratrooper in World War II and a Light Machine Gunner. He loved snow skiing, sailing, flying his Cessna and teaching other people how to fly, scuba diving, dancing, and much more. He enjoyed talking and tell stories of his experiences and teaching things he knew. He had a fun and quick sense of humor, loved one-liners and was a positive person and very sensitive guy. Along with his family he is leaving behind his good friend and business partner Rolando Sanchez and the construction business he built and loved. He worked right up to the end. The family will receive friends in the Grand foyer at Rolling Oaks Funeral Home on Friday from 6-8pm for visitation. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at Rolling Oaks at 1pm with interment to follow in Rolling Oaks Memorial Center.
