A Tribute to My Grandma
A humble servant of God, Cicily Thalachelloor lived her life with passion, kindness, and in servitude. She loved deeply, served others whole-heartedly, and lived fearlessly. Her life is one to be admired for its vast impact on those around her. God was always at the center of her life, and her unwavering faith remained as she left this world. Every person who came under her care left better and healthier. She saw the face of Christ in each and every person she met, and she gave him or her the respect and dignity he or she deserved. Her life is a testimony to God’s grace and the gifts it can bestow.
Although she has passed, Cicily’s seven grandchildren continue her legacy today: Jake, Abby, Anitha, Jerry, Jeff, Jamie, Lily, and Anjali. Vowing to live their lives with zeal as she did, Joe, Elsy, Jancy, and Princy, her four children, continue to celebrate her beautiful life. Her loving parents Joseph and Mary Mananpillal raised her to be the phenomenally caring person that she was.
All in all, Cicily lived her life for God. Though she may physically be gone, she is still alive in our hearts. If we are very still, we can feel her beside us, smiling her joyful smile.
Year of Mercy! My mother would be the poster child for MERCY. She had a merciful heart for the poor, hungry and homeless. She gave self sacrificially and from her scarcity. She firmly believed that our father will provide “daily bread” each day and continuously lived it out for us children to observe and see it in her life for ourselves. She was blessed by God! She was a humble servant of God. She lived her life in service to others. God was at the center of her life and her unwavering faith remained as she left this world.
